I used a variety of techniques that I learned over the course of this class: Desaturation, Masks, how to remove backgrounds well (polygon lasso is truly amazing), the Clone tool, Gradient, and Layer Skills.
My steps were as such:
- Some minor color adjustments/etc. on Selfie
- Remove non-blue background (polygon lasso)
- Fill in background with appropriately varied shades of blue via gradient + Spot Heal
- Duplicate, desaturate bottom layer, place mask on top layer and expose jacket
- Overlay new cloud layer
- Repeat, include varying degrees of masks (none, hair, jacket, background) and adjust opacity appropriately
My initial idea was to only overlay on my face with a different, but it didn't look great, so I switched photos and methods. I think that my final product is much better than the Double Exposure I did at the beginning due to the improvements in editing skill I've made.
